She’s 10 years old. Her stool is as big as a fist, sorry to be so graphic. She hasn’t had a soft stool or diarrhea in many many months. What can I do?
My baby had this problem. I was astounded at the size of her turds! No kidding. So I understand how you feel. Consult your doctor. To be honest the doctor did not seem to be concerned about this. It was really kind of frustrating for me. It was one of those moments when I felt totally stupid as a parent. Like I was making a big deal out of nothing. I was feeling like My kid is crapping cantaloupes! How can this be normal? Increasing the fiber and water in her diet and cutting way back on dairy helped.I would definitely advise checking with your doctor. And try to be sensitive to how embarrassing this probably is for your baby. My baby was terrified that she might overflow the toilet at someone else’s house. One thing I taught her was how to turn off the water at the toilet in case she couldn’t get the plunger to work fast enough.Good luck and my sympathies to you and your baby. This will get better and both of you will learn how to deal with it.
My baby is the same way. My baby’s problem is that he holds it in until he can’t possibly hold it in any longer. I just keep pushing the fiber in him with lots of fuits (many prunes) and benefiber (talk to your dr. about this one). And then it gets much softer and will not clog the toilet as often.
